RCMP are warning of a large police presence in the village of Richmound, Sask., a village near the Alberta border that has been home to cult leader Romana Didulo and her followers for the past two years.

The Mounties say officers have been deployed as a result of an ongoing investigation in the village of approximately 118 people, located 365 kilometres west of Regina.

"There is no known risk to public safety," RCMP said in a brief statement. "We will provide an update on this investigation later today."

Didulo describes herself as the "Queen of Canada," and has promoted various conspiracy theories while her followers have disrupted local residents. The cult has been living in a former school in the village.
