BEREA — Harold Fannin Jr. is getting his old number back.

Fannin is changing his jersey number ahead of his NFL regular-season debut with the Cleveland Browns . The Canton native is switching from No. 88, which he's had since rookie minicamp, to No. 44.

The No. 44 is what Fannin wore during his record-setting career as a tight end at Bowling Green State University. His final season with the Falcons he led all FBS Division I pass catchers in receptions (117), receiving yards (1,555), receptions per game (nine) and receiving yards per game (119.6), all of which set new records for an FBS tight end.

Fannin was taken in the third round of the NFL draft in April by the Browns with pick No. 67. He's expected to see significant time in the Browns' offense as the No. 2 tight end behind David
