DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — The Davis County Health Department confirmed Wednesday that one person has passed away from West Nile virus and two more have been hospitalized in Davis County.

"Over the past few weeks, human cases of West Nile virus have been reported throughout the state of Utah, particularly along the Wasatch front," the Davis County Health Department said in a press release Wednesday.

The Utah County Health Department also reported five human cases of the virus, four of which were neuroinvasive meaning the possibility of the virus leading to a severe neurological disease in a small percentage of individuals, according to experts.
