A 12-year-old Toronto boy already out on bail for alleged violent crimes is now accused of shooting a man in broad daylight in the driveway of his Markham home last month.
York Regional Police say officers responded to the shooting in the area of McCowan Rd. and 14th Ave. around 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 14.
“When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds,” Const. James Dickson said in a statement Wednesday.
He said the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that were non-life-threatening.
Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and arrested him on Tuesday.
The 12-year-old, who can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent, possession of property obtained by crime,
