Donald Trump Jr. said he called his father over the weekend "to make sure" he wasn't dead.

During a Wednesday interview on Newsmax, host Bianca de la Garza noted that rumors had circulated about the president's demise.

"You know, your dad isn't seen on TV for an hour," she told Donald Trump Jr., "and the, you know, conspiracies about him being dead starts swirling."

"I called my father over the weekend and be like, 'Hey, just want to make sure you're not dead,'" the president's son recalled. "'I know my daughter's playing golf with you as we speak, you know, I keep reading about it on Twitter, so I just want to make sure.' [He] didn't even know what I was talking about."

On Tuesday, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy confronted the president about rumors that he had died.

"I didn't see that," the commander-in-chief replied. "I didn't hear that one. That's pretty serious. Well, it's fake news. You know, it's just so, it's so fake. That's why the media has so little credibility."

"I knew they were saying, like, 'Is he okay? How's he feeling? What's wrong?'"
