SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Louisiana Public Broadcasting will celebrate its 50th anniversary on September 6, 2025, with special programming honoring the state’s history, culture, and people.

Founded in 1975, LPB has grown from a single station to a six-station network with statewide reach, including its partnership with WLAE-TV in New Orleans. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with a rebroadcast of Forever LSU, followed by a four-hour special of Why Louisiana Ain’t Mississippi… Or Any Place Else! at 7 p.m.

Throughout its anniversary year, LPB will air new documentaries, archival favorites, and educational programming, including an upcoming series on LSU football legend Billy Cannon and the travel series LA64.
