The Sault Ste. Marie native will play five instruments when Bright Star runs at CAA Theatre in Toronto. Mirvish Productions presents the show’s Canadian premiere from Sept. 30 to Oct. 26. Article content Article content
Dottor will mostly play cello, but will also be featured on violin, viola, upright bass and guitar.
“ This one is going to be a fun challenge,” said the Mount St. Joseph graduate during a recent interview.
Bright Star, featuring a score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, is a “heartfelt, bluegrass/folk musical” with a “very Appalachian inspired” score, said Dottor.
The show’s 20-plus songs include She’s Gone, Way Back in the Day and Sun is Gonna Shine.
