ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A trial date has been set in the alleged immigration fraud and money laundering scheme that resulted in FBI sweeps across Louisiana, according to court documents from the Western District of Louisiana, Alexandria Division.

Chandrakant “Lala” Patel was indicted this summer along with former and current Louisiana police chiefs:

Chad Doyle , Oakdale Police Chief

Michael “Freck” Slaney , Oakdale City Marshal

Glynn Dixon , Former Forest Hill Police Chief

Tebo Onishea , former police chief of Glenmora

The trial will be held on March 30, 2026, at 9 a.m. A pretrial conference will be on March 18, 2026, at 10 a.m., via video teleconference.
