TUCSON, Arizona — A 50-year-old man from Green Valley was bitten twice by a rattlesnake on Tuesday evening and is now recovering.

The Santa Rita Fire District said crews arrived to the area near Desert Bell Drive and La Cañada Drive around 7:10 p.m. The 50-year-old suffered bites to his lower leg and foot.

He was taken to Banner University Medical Center – Main Campus for further care, said SRFD.

Residents are advised to keep a safe distance if they encounter a rattlesnake and call 911 immediately if bitten.
