The Tigers (81-60) avoided a sweep after dropping the first two games of the series to the Mets (75-65).

Greene broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning when he ripped a single to center off former Tigers left-hander Gregory Soto. The liner came after Soto’s wild pitch moved two runners into scoring position. Greene fell behind 0-2 before smacking a 98 mph two-seam fastball past shortstop Francisco Lindor.
