A controversial housing project on Blair Road is moving ahead after Cambridge council voted to remove a holding provision that had paused construction.
The holding symbol was first put on the property in September 2024, when appeals to the Ontario Land Tribunal were made by developers Arbent and Setmir Faikovski.
The symbol acted as a pause on construction until certain studies were finished, including a detailed noise and vibration study, looking at impacts from things like trains and HVAC systems, and engineering reports that had to meet the city’s standards.
City staff and an outside consultant have now reviewed the studies and confirmed those requirements have been met.
