NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The North Attleborough Fire Department and Water Department responded to a home on Orne Street for a reported chemical reaction.

A spokesperson for the town said that the Water Department and a private company were on-site to install fire suppression sprinklers and dechlorinate the water lines in the basement.

During the process elevated chlorine levels in the enclosed basement caused the chemical reaction, and one department of public works employee was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
