Mount Sima hosted its annual Slamfest event on Aug. 29, attracting 60 mountain bikers to take on the Lefty Loosey and Drop the Clutch trails.

The event welcomed riders of all ages, including parents and seasoned mountain bikers. The Lefty Loosey trail was designated for professional riders, while Drop the Clutch, accessible from the top of the chairlift, was set up for intermediate participants.

"Some of our most elite mountain bikers also happen to be very elite gravel bikers, also happen to be elite road bikers, also happen to be elite triathletes," said Tom Luxemburger, president of Mount Sima's board of directors.

Mount Sima has offered mountain biking on five trails every Wednesday and Friday since June.
