WOODSTOCK, N.Y. — The Overlook Mountain Center has filed a “declaration of restrictive covenants,” restricting what can happen on a 37-acre tract on the southern slope of Overlook Mountain deemed to be of historical archaeological significance, the center announced.

According to a press release, the deed restrictions, filed with the Ulster County Clerk’s Office on Aug. 11, are intended to “preserve the Property as an educational tool for the general public’s benefit and to offer access to the Property for guided tours which focus on geology, astronomy, archeology, Native American culture, ecosystems studies, and the beauty of nature.”
