The popular illegal sports streaming platform Streameast has been shut down, according to multiple reports. The news comes after a year-long investigation into the platform, which was the largest illegal sports streaming platform in the world.

According to The Athletic , Streameast had 80 unauthorized domains that generated 1.6 billion combined visits over the past year.

The site provided free streams of soccer, NFL, NBA and more.

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment told The Athletic that 50 media and entertainment organizations -- including Amazon, Netflix and Paramount -- combined with Egyptian law enforcement officials to take down Streameast.
