LOS ANGELES — James Gunn has revealed the title and release date for the follow-up to his 2025 Superman reboot. The sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, is scheduled to open in theaters on July 9, 2027, according to Gunn and DC Studios.
The announcement, made on Gunn’s Instagram account, featured artwork by DC Comics publisher Jim Lee showing Superman facing Lex Luthor in his iconic “warsuit.” Gunn described the film as part of a broader “Superman Saga,” rather than a direct continuation of Superman.
Gunn, who co-leads DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, is overseeing a rebooted DC Cinematic Universe. The slate also includes Supergirl, set for release in June 2026, and Clayface, due out in September 2026.
