The enormous corpse of a sea creature has left locals stunned after it washed up on a beach in Wales.
One visitor was shocked after seeing what she believed to be a whale carcass on the sand at Cefn Sidan Beach in the village of Pembrey, Carmarthenshire.
It was spotted on the tide, and quickly attracted attention from residents and visitors to the popular spot.
Marine experts are to examine the creature to try and determine how it died, Wales Online reports .
In similar cases on Welsh beaches, stranded whales have been found to be malnourished or affected by pollutants such as discarded plastic.
Cefn Sidan is one of the longest beaches in Wales, and is popular with walkers, families and tourists.
The appearance of the carcass has caused shock among locals,
