Deputies say one dog died from heatstroke while another was rescued after being left without food or water in sweltering conditions.
A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation found he left two dogs outside in extreme heat, leading to the death of one animal.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) charged Guadalupe Garcia Jr. with one count of aggravated animal cruelty and two counts of confinement of an animal without sufficient food or water.
According to the CCSO, detectives and Collier County Animal Control officers responded to Garcia’s residence in Immokalee on May 11. They found two dogs in an outdoor enclosure with no food, water, or shelter. One dog, a 2-year-old Boston Terrier named Ally, was found dead.
