SOUTHBURY, Connecticut —

After catastrophic floods last year in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, many places are still just a shell of their former selves.

In Southbury, the public library has been rebuilding for a year, after having their entire basement and much of their stock wiped out. While there is still much to do, the facility was able to open its doors once again this week, more than a year later.

“I used to come to every book sell every year. It was so wonderful,” said Karen Tunic. “There were books on shelves, on the floor, pictures all over the place; it was just wonderful.”
