PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KPTV) - Level 3 ‘Go Now’ and Level 2 ‘Be Set’ evacuations are in place northeast of Prineville due to a wildfire that started on Tuesday afternoon.
The Oregon Department of Forestry says the Marks Creek Fire in Crook County has burned around 2,000 acres 21 miles northeast of Prineville since Tuesday.
ODF sent a Complex Incident Management Team to Crook County on Wednesday to assist with the fire burning at the Ochoco National Forest between Forest Road 2610 and Forest Road 150 off of Highway 26 East (Ochoco Highway)
Level 3 evacuations have been ordered by the Crook County Sheriff’s Office from Hwy 26 at Ochoco Creek Rd to the Ochoco Ranger Station as of 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
