DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —
There was a special signing ceremony Wednesday, as construction continues at the new Douglas County Community Mental Health Center.
The beams continue to go up a the new facitlity, located near 42nd and Center streets.
One of them is being signed by those who helped make it all possible.
"As we stand here today for our topping off ceremony, we're looking at more than just a new facility. We're witnessing the dawn of a new era in patient care for Douglas County," Mary Ann Borgeson, Douglas County commissioner, said.
The new facility will host 16 inpatient beds and will feature recreational spaces as well as an on-site pharmacy.
Construction is slated to be completed by the end of 2026.
