OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Papillion City Council members are considering changes to the city’s municipal code — from earlier curfew hours for teens to new rules on public behavior. First Alert 6 spoke with the Chief of Police about what could change if the proposal passes.
Papillion police say it’s time to update city ordinances.
A new proposal focuses on two main areas: curfews and panhandling.
The ordinance would set the juvenile curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for anyone under 18.
“With respect to the curfew, we actually gave an hour back. So instead of 6 a.m., it’s now 5 a.m.,” said Chief of Police Chris Whitted.
The ordinance also lists exceptions — like teens traveling from work, school, or religious activities.
