IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa City’s first phase of the Court Street reconstruction project is set to be completed this season, according to a recent update.

Crews have resumed work following utility delays and the first phase is set to be completed this season.

The construction is expected to be completed through South Seventh Avenue by the end of the 2025 construction season.

Crews are working on finishing the joint utility trench and the new underground private utility lines.

Muscatine Avenue at Court Street is also set to fully reopen before the end of the construction season.

The 2026 construction season will begin with work on Court Street east of its intersection with South Seventh Avenue.
