CLEVELAND — Crews remain on site in Cleveland repairing a water main that burst late last week, flooding the eastbound lanes of the Shoreway and forcing a closure.
Workers are continuing to dig and replace sections of pipe damaged in the rupture.
Michael Armstrong, who lives nearby, said the closure is causing traffic headaches for residents.
"Unfortunately you just have a sign that says 'road closed,' so where do the drivers go? They have no idea and it creates a big traffic problem in the morning," Armstrong said.
Since the break, drivers have been finding their own routes, often cutting through residential streets. Neighbors say the added traffic is creating congestion on roads that rarely see this volume of cars.
