(KRON) -- An arson suspect got an early birthday message from Fairfield police after he was taken into custody following an overnight fence fire near a hotel.
Fairfield police said officers responded at 2:06 a.m. Wednesday to the 2100 block of North Texas Street to probe the blaze.
Police said officers arrived to find the fire making its way towards the building, which prompted evacuations. The building was ultimately not damaged in the fire.
Surveillance video helped police determine that the blaze was intentional and a suspect was soon located in the area. The alleged fire starter, identified as Joshua Bell, 42, was booked into county jail, according to police.
