CLEVELAND -- James Gunn’s sequel to the summer blockbuster “Superman” now has a title and a release date. “Man of Tomorrow” will hit theaters on July 9, 2027, the director announced on social media.

The post included a comic book-inspired image of Superman standing casually next to Lex Luthor, clad in a suit of armor. David Corenswet, who returns as Clark Kent/Superman, followed with his own post featuring a different image that seemed to show the arch-rivals working together. Not to be left out — and possibly to squash that speculation — Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, shared one of Superman punching his character .

“See you on set in not too long,” Gunn replied.
