Jerald Benjamin Clawson, 74, of Winter Park, was arrested in connection with an investment fraud scheme where he pocketed several million dollars from victims, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began investigating Clawson in October 2023. They allege that Clawson solicited real estate deals through cash and bridge loans, promising victims returns that never materialized. Latest Forecast

FDLE Fort Myers agents obtained an arrest warrant for Clawson. He was taken into custody on Aug. 28.

Clawson is currently being held in the Orange County Jail.
