YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) - A cell phone camera and a set of microphones she got from Walmart are all Paulina Montaldo needs to uplift the voices of the Hispanic community in Youngstown.

Montaldo, creator of "Somos Youngstown" and "330 Informa," has always wanted to be a journalist.

"My father was a journalist. My grandfather was a journalist. So I knew that that's what I always wanted to do," Montaldo said.

Originally from Santiago, Chile, Montaldo studied journalism in Ecuador and worked as a Foreign Press correspondent before moving to the U.S.

"When I came here, I wanted to do TV, but my accent didn't help me. I wanted to work behind the camera, but it didn't work out. So I went back to college with Plan B," Montaldo said.

She got her master's degree in education and moved to Youngs
