EUGENE — Oregon is going from facing a quarterback it played before, to one that has barely played at all.

Oklahoma State’s Zane Flores will make his first career start against No. 6 Oregon Saturday (12:30 p.m., CBS) at Autzen Stadium. The third-year freshman went 13 of 20 for 136 yards with three carries for eight yards after entering for an injured Hauss Hejny during last week’s game against UT Martin.

With such a limited sample to reference from film, Dan Lanning said the Ducks will be relying mostly on understanding Oklahoma State’s offense and less about Flores’ individual skills. The Cowboys ranked in the top 30 nationally in passing yards each of the past three seasons and offensive coordinator Doug Meacham’s offense at TCU ranked in the top 10 the past two years.
