Kentucky State Police POst 1 at Mayfield has a new post commander.

Captain Joey Adams has been in several roles at Post 1 from 2001-18 after beginning his career at Post 8 in Morehead in 1999.

In September 2018, Captain Adams transferred to the Division of Forensic Services, where he served as the Commander, supervising all six forensic laboratories and the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Investigative Team.

While in the Division of Forensic Services, Captain Adams promoted to Lieutenant in September,2019 and then Captain in September,2021.

Captain Adams replaces Major David Archer, who was recently promoted to serve as West Troop Major, overseeing operations among the 8 post districts in the west half of the commonwealth.
