BUCKINGHAM – Emma Shaeffer was down, but not for long this time.

The Pennridge senior has battled her share of adversity in her first three years with the program, including a couple serious injuries, but what had sent her to the ground early in Wednesday’s second half at Central Bucks East was just a foul albeit an impactful one. While she didn’t convert the ensuing penalty kick, Shaeffer did put away a goal of her own soon after to help her team take over first place in the SOL Colonial Division.

Shaeffer and the Rams continued their upward swing, winning their third straight match by defeating the Patriots 2-0 and handing East its first loss.
