RICHLAND, Wash. – Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) set a new record for service to the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo, providing 30,687 rides this year.

This surpassed the previous record of 28,422 rides set in 2019, BFT said in a release.

The transit system saw a surge on August 22 with over 7,900 rides, as concertgoers flocked to see Smash Mouth and Sir Mix-A-Lot.

“Record-breaking and smile-making: over 30,000 trips to the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo with BFT. I’m proud of our team and grateful to our regional partners for helping the Tri-Cities move together,” said BFT CEO Thomas Drozt.
