CRYSTAL FALLS — A new series of bimonthly Senior Days at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp will begin Monday with the Rev. David Van Kley as guest speaker.
Participants can learn about the phenomenon of Christian Nationalism in America and discuss how best to respond as citizens. Kley will identify and explain the roots of Christian Nationalism in the U.S. and why it is a concern.
A retired Evangelical Lutheran Church in America pastor, Kley served several congregations in the Upper Peninsula — including Amasa, Stambaugh, Ishpeming and Wakefield — as well as in Custer, South Dakota. Before retiring in 2018, he was lead pastor at Messiah Lutheran in Marquette. Van Kley is an active participant in the ELCA’s Truth and Healing initiative.
