Six people have been arrested after an armed home invasion sparked a police pursuit which ended with a multi-vehicle crash on Melbourne’s Monash freeway.

More than a dozen police cars were spotted at the scene of a crash on the Monash/Princess Freeway on Thursday morning, with talkback radio callers saying they saw multiple people sitting handcuffed on the side of the road.

VicTraffic reported at the time that all but one of the outbound lanes was closed due to an “emergency services incident”, while Ambulance Victoria told SkyNews.com.au that they had responded to the incident at about 6.10am and had transported one person to hospital.
