FLORENCE, Ky. —

No injuries have been reported after a lightning strike sparked a fire at an apartment complex in Florence.

It happened around 4 a.m. Thursday, fire officials say. Lightning hit the roof line of the building. Advertisement

Everyone was able to evacuate the building on their won. The fire was under control in less than an hour.

Authorities say eight units have been displaced. The Red Cross has been notified.

Fire crews from Florence, Burlington, Union, Independence and Edgewood responded to the scene.

Officials say smoke detectors were working.

The fire marshal is responding to investigate, but crews are confident the lighting strike was the cause.
