The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will help kick off the 2025 regular season as they host the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night in the season opener. It's the first regular season NFL game since January's Week 18 "Sunday Night Football" clash between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions to determine the NFC's top seed.

It will be the sixth straight season that the reigning Super Bowl champs host the regular season kickoff on a Thursday night. Over the last five years, the hosts of those "NFL Kickoff Games" are 3-2.

Thursday night's matchup will begin the five-month march to the 60th iteration of the Super Bowl next February, which will take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
