MIAMI (AP) — Hurricane Lorena has weakened to a tropical storm but forecasters said a life-threatening risk of flash flooding and mudslides was still present for parts of Mexico's Baja California peninsula.
Tropical Storm Lorena had maximum sustained winds of 70 mph (110 kph) on Thursday morning, the National Hurricane Center said.
Lorena was expected to weaken further but could still bring isolated rainfall amounts up to 15 inches (38 centimeters) to Baja California Sur, Baja California and Sonora state.

MIAMI (AP) — Hurricane Lorena is weakening and was expected to revert to a tropical storm Thursday, forecasters said, adding there's still a risk of life-threatening flash floods and mudslides for parts of Mexico's west
