MEDINA, Ohio -- The Highland Hornets girls soccer team maintained its perfect record Wednesday evening with a decisive 3-0 victory over Copley at North Gateway Tire Field at Highland Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, highlighted by Copley goalkeeper Maddie Franchetti’s diving save, Highland’s offense found its rhythm.
The dynamic duo of Vanessa Zufall and Grace Shondel powered the Hornets’ attack, with Zufall opening the scoring on an assist from Shondel.
The pair reversed roles for Highland’s second goal, as Shondel found the net with Zufall providing the assist. Zufall then sealed the victory with her second goal of the match.
The win improves Highland to 5-0, while Copley fell to 4-1-1.
