I’m responding to Katherine Camara’s letter in the Town Times on September 28, 2025.
The Watertown WSA held up paying the new outrageous rates because numerous efforts to discuss these rates were ignored by Waterbury.
The real issue was never addressed by the courts and that is that Watertown does not get the same services as the Waterbury users do at same price such as administration, plant operation, pipe installation. repair and maintenance and employees to do the work. In additional to paying Waterbury’s rates we have to pay for the aforementioned services for ourselves.
As an aside, these rate increases forced on us by Waterbury and the courts only apply to the users of the Watertown WSA and only on the sewer rates of the Fire District, and not anyone who has privat
