OMAHA, Neb. —

During his weekly conference call, Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts said he supports the efforts from the Department of Homeland Security and Gov. Jim Pillen to put an ICE detention facility in McCook, Neb.

The so-called Cornhusker Clink could open in October in the place of the current Work Ethic Camp, according to Pillen's original timeline.

"From my time as governor, I've had the chance to visit the McCook Work Ethic Camp, and it seems to me this facility would fit ICE's needs well to detain people while they're going through the legal process," Ricketts said.
