A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder following a stabbing incident that occurred outside a McDonald's in Southwark. The attack took place on Wednesday, August 27, on Old Kent Road, shocking customers who were present at the time.

Two boys, both aged 17, were injured in the incident. One of them, identified as Yeray Sanchez-Morales, tragically died later that day. The second victim has since been released from hospital after receiving treatment.

The 15-year-old suspect, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, was initially arrested on September 1 on suspicion of attempted murder. He has now been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. He is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, expressed condolences to Yeray’s family, stating, "Our thoughts are with Yeray’s family at this unimaginably difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers."

The stabbing occurred in a public area, and there were numerous witnesses. Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the incident or has dashcam footage from the area.
