Three Jackson State football players have been named Southwestern Athletic Conference players of the week after big-time performances in the Tigers’ season-opening win over Hampton.
Running back Ahmad Miller was named SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week alongside Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body. Miller’s pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter – one from two yards out and the other being a 76-yard breakaway score – broke a 14-14 tie and lifted Jackson State to a 28-14 win. The redshirt sophomore finished the day with 172 yards on 10 carries.
Defensive end Quincy Ivory was named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Tiger D with eight total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The transfer senior from the University of Flo
