Mesa County Treasurer Sheila Reiner announced Wednesday she is stepping down from her position to take another job within the county government.
Reiner has served as Mesa County Treasurer since 2018, and served as County Clerk before that.
“I have enjoyed serving the citizens of Mesa County, my team here is top notch,” Reiner said. “I work with an impressive group, and I will miss them greatly.”
Reiner’s resignation will be effective Sept. 9.
Reiner will leave her position to take over as acting finance director, replacing Pam Noonan, who is leaving the county after 31 years — including 7½ as finance director.
Reiner must step down as treasurer because Mesa County policy requires strict separation between the finance department and treasurer’s office, according to a press release.
