SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Temperatures across the region should be a few degrees cooler than yesterday, but skies remain smoky due to nearby wildfires, especially at higher elevations.
Expect a pleasant Thursday morning under mostly clear skies with a light breeze. Valley highs will be in the low 90s, while foothill temperatures climb to around 90 degrees. Afternoon temperatures in the Sierra will peak in the mid-70s. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to return to the Sierra this afternoon.
Our Delta breeze will carry wildfire smoke that has collected in the foothills farther east into the Sierra.
