MINNEAPOLIS — Shine Bright for Kids is raising money for children with cancer or blood disorder diagnoses.

Children's Minnesota is hosting the fundraiser in September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Sickle Cell Awareness Month. People can donate online and their gift amount will be doubled by the Robert M. Jones Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation.

The donations will fund the Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Children’s Minnesota hospitals.

Teresa Herriage, Associate Medical Director of the Cancer and Blood Disorders Program, and Sarah Woolever, Music Therapy Supervisor, visited KARE 11 News at Noon on Thursday to explain more about the fundraiser.
