The four nonconference home games Montana will play are a little like one of those sugary Peeps you sample a week after Easter.
They're mostly soft and marshmallowy with one rough edge.
I'm not trying to be critical and I know it's a challenge to attract nonleague FCS teams to Zootown. I just prefer exciting matchups where the outcome is in question. The kind the players remember long after they've left football behind.
This week's home opener for UM falls under the category of Why Not Pick On Someone Your Own Size? I just don't see the point of an FCS program as established as Montana playing any NCAA Division II team unless it's Ferris State. I guess the Grizzly coaching staff wants a warm-up game, which makes perfect sense to some and smells like low tide in late summer
