Raegan Revord is stepping into new terrain as an author.

The actor, 17, caught up with PEOPLE ahead of the Sept. 2 release of their debut novel, Rules for Fake Girlfriends . Revord began writing the young adult rom-com, about a college student thrown into a fake dating scheme, while on the set of their hit sitcom Young Sheldon .
