CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -- The head of the U.S. Space Force is coming to the Lowcountry next week.

General B. Chance Saltzman, who serves as the chief of space operations, is scheduled to speak Sept. 9 at McAlister Field House on The Citadel campus, according to information provided by the military college.

Gen. Saltzman was elevated to the service’s highest-ranking military post in 2022, becoming the second person to hold the top position in the branch's history. He is tasked with overseeing the organization, training and equipping of space forces serving in the U.S. and overseas.
