Eddie Robinson Jr. has a reverence for Southern’s A.W. Mumford Stadium.
However, 6 p.m. on Saturday will be the first time the Alabama State coach will ever lead his team at the venue. The last time his program came to play the Jaguars in Baton Rouge was in 2016, which took place five years before his hiring.
Robinson, a New Orleans native, has experience with the stadium as a spectator and before that, as a college player for Alabama State. His first collegiate game of his playing career was at Southern in 1988, which the Jaguars won 20-12.
