YOUNGSTOWN The Post Office in Youngstown’s Cornersburg neighborhood is temporarily closed after a vehicle crashed into the front of the building on Thursday.

A call came into the 911 dispatch center at around 9 a.m. reporting the crash at the shopping plaza on the 3300 block of Canfield Road.

When first responders arrived, they found a car with front-end damage behind a crossover SUV that had gone through the doors and into the post office lobby.

Investigators say the car struck the SUV before running into the post office. Both cars were towed from the scene. The driver of the car that struck the door was taken home by a relative.

The Postal Service said in a statement that it is working with the landlord to make repairs.
